Oakland's Dallas Braden Throws Perfect Game

Athletics lefty Dallas Braden threw the 19th perfect game in major league history, in a 4-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays Sunday. It's the team's first perfect game in 42 years.

Before this perfect game, the only thing many fans knew Dallas Braden for was his spat with A-Rod for running across "his" mound. He was King Of The Hill yesterday against the Rays.

How could the Rays let another lefty throw a perfect game against them in a ten month span?

Congrats to Dallas Braden on the Perfect Game.

The Future Is Now!

Starlin Castro has been called up to The Chicago Cubs, according to ESPNChicago.com.

Castro will join the team in Cincinnati.

Ryan Theriot is expected to move to second base to make room for the 20 year old phenom.

The Cubs need something to improve their defense. They commited three errors against the Pirates in the finale of that three game series. Aramis Ramirez has yet to start hitting, so the Cubs had to make this move.

The future is now for the Cubs!

Ernie Harwell DIes

Long-time Detroit Tigers play-by-play broadcaster Ernie Harwell has died at age 92 after battling inoperable cancer of the bile duct.

RIP Ernie Harwell

Ernie Harwell, The legendary voice of the Detroit Tigers has passed away. He was 92. Harwell did Tigers games for 42 years. Harwell will be remembered for his legendary catchphrases like:

A Double Play: "two for the price of one"
Homeruns were "looong gone!"
Called third strikes:(he) "stood there like a house by the side of the road."

Ernie Harwell gave his farewell to the fans on September 17,2009. Here it is in it's entirety.

Here is Ernie Harwell's legendary "This Is Baseball Speech"

Harry Caray, Skip Caray, Harry Kalas, and now Ernie Harwell. Another one of the all time great broadcasters is now "Long Gone!" Bob Uecker, Vin Scully, and Milo Hamilton are the only ones left that I would consider all time great baseball announcers.

In spite of it all, Ernie Harwell had a strong Christian faith which never wavered during his cancer. May God Bless Ernie's family, and may God Bless everyone who was lucky enough to listen to him announce a game.
