Thoughts on the end of the game

I did not have a lot of faith in Cooper Rush to back up Dak Prescott once it was announced Dak was out for the game, and through one half I was right.

Whatever Mike McCarthy said to his team at halftime must have worked, because Rush threw a touchdown pass to begin the third quarter.

Vikings clock management was absolutely atrocious! Their refusal to take their final time out only to spike the ball with one second left.  Then the inability to get out of bounds at the end was just as bad if not worse.

Greg Zeuerlein did not make all of his field goals, but he made the ones he needed to to win the game.
 20 to 16 Cowboys win!

Thoughts before the game

Dallas plays on the road at New England today. I am Excited to see Mac Jones play. I am getting serious Brady vibes watching him play. He takes care of the football and rarely turns it over.
The Cowboys defense has been incredible. I love the play of Trevon Diggs, the league leader in interceptions. He is quickly developing a reputation as a Shutdown Corner.
Ezekiel Elliott (ribs) will play. Tony Pollard will likely get a bigger workload with the injury.
Good statement game coming up later.
Prediction: Cowboys win 28-7.

Cowboys thoughts

Zeurlein at the buzzer makes us 1-1. A young inexperienced Chargers team penalized the game away. Dallas would be 0-2 if the Chargers had their things together. Chargers lost their home field advantage when they left San Diego.
Monday night got off to a much better start. Dak Precott in his first start thew a dime to CeeDee Lamb just shy of the endzone.
Cowboys have a home game vs Carolina, a true "measuring stick" game versus the undefeated Panthers.

My thoughts on The Dallas Game

So it's been a long while since I have made a blog post. The Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played an amazing season opener on Thursday Night. Here Are my thoughts on the game

Dak Prescott is back
Dak Prescott was back in the saddle, and he looked great. First game back since he was injured in Week 5 and had to miss the rest of the season. He threw for 403 yards And 3 touchdowns, and threw one interception that went through the hands of wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. He even took the run/pass option! Dak Is back at 100 percent. This loss is not Dak's fault, but rather inept coaching playing for the Field Goal instead of trying for the endzone.

Tom Brady looks better than ever
Tom Brady found his buddy Rob Gronkowski for two touchdowns in the game, just like in the Super Bowl. Brady threw two interceptions, including on a Hail Mary right before halftime.

Cowboys Kicking Woes Continue
Greg Zeuerlein missed a couple of kicks that he should have made, and I am not including that 60 yard long kick either. Z missed an extra point way leftward, indicating to me he is still battling that groin injury. He was healing up all preseason and did not try any kicks until then. Hopefully he uses his off time until the next game vs the Chargers to heal.

Cowboys Defense Seems better
The Cowboys defense seems at least somewhat improved. They intercepted Tom Brady twice, and took The Bucs down to the wire. Yes the defense gave up 31 points, but this defense will only get better on defense once Kelvin Joseph gets healthy.

The Cowboys next game is on the road vs the Los Angeles Chargers.

Can Dallas Cowboys Defense be fixed?

For the Dallas Cowboys, it has been a tale of two teams on the field. Dak Prescott currently leads the league in passing, but the Cowboys defense has been horrendous. They are on pace to to currently give up a record number of yards. Can this defense be fixed?

First, right up front. Two big holes at Linebacker , no Sean Lee, no Leighton Vander Esch was a big loss for our defense.

The Cowboys have been torched through the air. Russell Wilson torched Dallas for five touchdowns in the Seahawks win in Seattle over Dallas.

The secondary play has been especially pitiful. Trevon Diggs is the only player I would give a passing grade to.

It is still early, but now the games are divisional. Only a miraculous comeback win versus Atlanta stops Dallas from being winless.

If Daniel Jones has a career day against Dallas, that may be the sign that this team is broken beyond repair. Dak Prescott can only do so much from his QB spot.
