(NBA) Kobe Bryant first wants out of Los Angeles, then later reconsiders

Kobe Bryant dropped a bombshell on the rest of the NBA when he announced on ESPN Radio in New York that he would like to be traded. However, he had a slight change of heart on another radio show, saying that he "hopes to get things worked out" to stay in Los Angeles. The questions are: Will Kobe stay in Los Angeles? Who would be willing to deal for Kobe Bryant? What would Los Angeles consider to be fair value for a player like Kobe?

Obvoiously teams like Minnesota should be in the "Kobe Bryant Sweepstakes." I started to imagine Kevin Garnett in a Laker uniform, but now we may have to imagine Kobe in a Timberwolves Jersey. New Jersey also could go after Kobe if they lose Vince Carter or Jason Kidd.

Los Angeles didn't get fair value for Shaquille O'Neal, and they will definitely will make sure they don't get a repeat performance with Kobe Bryant.

(MLB) Clemens could not return at a better time, but will he solve the Yankees Troubles?

Roger Clemens made his final start in the minor leagues on Monday, and he will no doubt be starting for the Yankees soon, that is not the question. The question is: Will the Yankees finally wake up and try to make an improbable comeback against their hated rival, the Red Sox? In April, the problem with the Yankees was that they had no pitching, they had the offense, but they had no pitching. What a difference a month makes! Now the Yankees have the pitching, no doubt, with the return of Clemens, but Now they have no offense! A-Rod, Matsui, Jeter, Abreu are all ice cold, and this is the heart of the Yankee order! However the Red Sox are Red Hot, and they are NOT going to relinquish their lead in the American League East, meaning the Yankees will be out of the playoffs for the first time in the Joe Torre era. The Joe Torre era of the Yankees will be over when they fail to make the playoffs. To those who do not think this is possible, I urge you to remember October of last year, when the Yankees made the playoffs and were swept by the eventual American League Champion Detroit Tigers. The days afterwards were filled with reports that Joe Torre would be fired and that Lou Pinella would become the new Manager of the Yankees. Torre was not fired, and Pinella is now with stuck with the same old Chicago Cubs. Torre will get the Donald Trump Treatment from the slowly fading George Steinbrenner, and that raises many more questions: who would replace Torre? Would Roger Clemens retire and actually mean it? Would Jason Giambi still be on the Yankees, or would his contract be voided for opening his mouth about steroids?

Many questions in the Bronx right now, and we should get an answer to them all by Opening Day of Next Year.

(NFL) KC (for now) QB Green Stuck (for now) in KC

For now, Quarterback Trent Green is not going to Miami. He is stuck in the middle between Kansas City and Miami trade talks. This whole deal seems to hinge whether the draft pick Kansas City sends is a sixth round pick or a conditional one. Trent Green did not want his role or paycheck in Kansas City reduced, and Kanasas City then decided to try and shop him, with Miami being the closest to making a deal.
Currently Miami and Kansas City are eyeball to eyeball, waiting for someone to blink.

(NBA) Draft Lottery Selection not good for NBA

The NBA Draft Lottery was last night, and there were some real suprises. The First Pick in The NBA Draft fell to the Portland TrailBlazers, and the Blazers are certainly going to take Ohio State Center Greg Oden. The Blazers already have NBA Rookie of the Year Brandon Roy, and they are now going to add Greg Oden. The Second Pick in The NBA Draft fell to The Seattle Supersonics, and they are certainly going to take Texas Forward Kevin Durant, who will be looked upon as the savior of the Sonics staying in Seattle. Ray Allen is finally going to get some help.

This is good for their respective teams and all, but I do have a slight problem with it. Both Portland and Seattle are out in the west, and many people wanting to see Oden and Durant on a national scale may not be able to because they may already be in bed. If you can stay up late to watch Kevin Durant and Greg Oden, you should, because they are going to bring a lot of excitement to their teams this year and in the years to come.

The Chicago Cubs took the second of three games from the White Sox today, defeating the White Sox 11 to 6. The Cubs tied things up in the fifth inning as Cubs catcher Michael Barrett hit a homerun to tie the game at 3. The Cubs good luck continued that inning as Jason Marquis, the Pitcher, hit a homerun to straight away centerfield (yes, the pitcher.) However, the Sox came back to tie the game on a two run homerun by Joe Crede. The White Sox took the lead in the eighth inning as Paul Konerko hit a solo homerun. The Cubs tied the game in the bottom of the eighth inning as Alfonso Soriano hit one into centerfield to tie the game at 6. The Cubs continued to have good fortune, as Aramis Ramirez would drive in Soriano with an RBI Double to give the Cubs a 7 to 6 lead. The Cubs then increased their lead to 8 to 6 as Michael Barrett reached base on an infield single, driving in Aramis Ramirez. The Clincher for the Cubs came in the eighth when the Cubs had the bases loaded and up stepped Derrek Lee, who wasn't supposed to be playing until Tuesday. Anyway, he stepped up with the bases loaded and hit a grand slam, putting the game away, and the Cubs are victorious in Wrigley 11 to 6.


Almost as exiting was the New York version of the "Crosstown Showdown", as David Wright hit two home runs for the New York Mets and the Yankees were playing some terrible defense, as they had three errors in the game. The Mets won 10-7.

The Houston Astros defeated the Texas Rangers 6 to 1, evening up "The battle of Texas."

The second game of the rematch of the 2006 World Series was a lot closer than yesterday, but the Tigers still defeated the Cardinals 8 to 7.

The Marlins defeated Tampa Bay 7 to 2 in "The Battle of Florida"

(NBA) Spurs play Jazz in Western Conference Finals: Cavaliers play Pistons in Eastern Conference Finals

The San Antonio Spurs put the knockout punch on the Phoenix Suns last night, defeating the Suns 114-106. Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan, and Tony Parker came alive last night, with Ginobili leading the team with 38 points, and the Spurs had a twenty point lead late in the fourth quarter, but the Suns cut the defecit to five points before the Spurs banged in another three to officially put away the game. The Spurs will play the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference Finals. The Jazz defeated the Houston Rockets in seven games.

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the New Jersy Nets 88-72, as LeBron James will lead his Cavaliers against the Detroit Pistons, who finally put the Bulls away in Chicago during game six of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

The Battle of Chicago got under way yesterday as the Chicago Cubs defeated their crosstown American League rivals from the South Side, the White Sox, by the final score 0f 6-3. The Cubs play the Sox today and Sunday as the first of several meetings between these two teams.

The Battle of New York got in full swing as the Mets defeated the Yankees 3-2 as Endy Chavez hit the go ahead homerun off of Yankee Starter Andy Pettite. The battle of New York continues this weekend, as the Yankees will try to salvage the rest of this series.

The Battle of Los Angeles (okay, so only one of the teams actually plays in Los Angeles, I know), the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (formerly the Anaheim Angels) rocked Los Angeles Dodgers starter Brad Penny for eight runs, and the Angels are victorious 9-1.


In a rematch of last year's World Series, the Detroit Tigers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 14-4.

Former Oakland Athletics starter Barry Zito was rocked for seven runs and six hits in four innings, and the Athletics defeated the San Francisco Giants 15-3.

In the battle of Ohio, The Cleveland Indians defeated the Cincinnati Reds 9 to 4 at "The Jake" in Cleveland.

In the battle of Texas, the Texas Rangers defeated their Texas rival Houston Astros 7-4.

The Atlanta Braves and the Boston Red Sox was rained out Friday and will be made up Saturday as a day/night doubleheader.
