Thoughts on the Cowboys offseason

Addition by subtraction.
That is what the Cowboys have gone through this offseason.
The loss of Amari Cooper to Cleveland hurts the passing game.  Cooper missed two games due to COVID. Two games where the Cowboys really would have used his services.

I support a person's medical freedom.  At the same time his absence was felt in the passing game.  We beat the Raiders if he is in the lineup.

CeeDee Lamb was not ready to be a number one reciever in Amari's absence. He better be ready to step up now.  Michael Gallup just got extended as well. Three, four and five wide receivers will be determined in training camp and the preseason.

The drafting in the first round of an offensive lineman may pay dividends down the road, but may not right now.

Perplexed by the offseason, but looking forward to the regular season.

Go Cowboys!

Thoughts on the dallas Cowboys loss

Back in the season opener at Tampa Bay, Dallas put up a respectable showing versus Tampa Bay. I was looking forward to a divisional rematch versus the Bucs. We just had to get through the 49ers.

7-0 49ers. 10-0 49ers? This is not okay.

Cowboys were penalized too much. 13 penalties in a playoff game? Inexcusable.

Dak: I admire our QB, but his performance vs the 49ers was the worst I have seen all season. 23 completions on 43 attempts for
254 yards passing with one touchdown and one interception.

Deebo Samuel was unstoppable on the defensive front. Yet some fans want to promote Dan Quinn from defensive coordinator to Head Coach? Sorry. Not impressed.

Mike Mccarthy has underperformed as head coach of the Cowboys. Since Dallas had the easiest schedule, fans were thinking maybe things would be different. Instead it's another empty season.

thoughts before Arizona...

The Cowboys are playing their final home game of the season versus the Cardinals.
The Cardinals could pull off an upset  victory. This feels like a trap game for me.
All in all Go Cowboys!

Thoughts before the Giants game...

The Cowboys escaped DC with a 27-20 road win.
Now the Giants play Dallas for the second time this season.
Dallas defensive front last week triggered five sacks and 8 QB hits. If they put up a similar output, they should walk away with another victory.

Thoughts before the Football Team game...

Cowboys Tony Pollard is injured so they signed free agent RB Ito Smith. Hope he gets a few times with the football just to see what he can do.
QB: Dak Prescott vs Taylor Heinecke. Who comes up with the fewest turnovers will likely walk away with the win. The Defense intercepted Taysom Hill four times in the Cowboys last win vs the Saints.

Will the Cowboys rest Ezekiel Elliott going forward?

The Micah Parsons show: a rookie who is playing beyond his years, Washington will know where he is on every snap.

Head Coach Mike Mccarthy guarantees victory in this game. A bold statement, doubly so going on the road.
Go Cowboys!

Cowboys Lose to Vegas, win vs Saints

With the Dallas Cowboys losing a heartbreaker in overtime to the Raiders on Thanksgiving, they needed a much better showing vs the Saints in the dome.
Taysom Hill threw four interceptions as the Cowboys beat the Saints to get back on the winning mark. Dan Quinn became the interim head coach due to Mike McCarthy battling COVID. Michael Gallup hauled in one of the best touchdown catches of the year. A 27-17 Cowboys victory!

Cowboys lose a Statement game

That game was horrible.
No Tyron Smith on the offensive line.
Frank Clark 4 sacks.
No time for Dak to get rid of the football. No Amari Cooper.
CeeDee Lamb out at halftime with a concussion. I would be stunned if he played vs the Las Vegas Raiders on Thanksgiving. He or Cooper will both be out for this game.
Dak threw a couple of interceptions. One at the end of the half. One at the end of the game. Cowboys lose by ten, 19 to 9.
There were a couple of pass interference calls missed by the referees, that could have taken Dallas into first and goal territory.
Happy Thanksgiving. Go Cowboys! Enjoy the Turkey!
