NFL Preview: AFC North

Can the newly christened "Chad Ocho Cinco" lead the Bengals to the AFC North title?

The AFC North was pretty much a disappointment last season. Baltimore was a dud last season. That led to the firing of Brian Billick as head coach. While Cleveland was the surprise team of 2007, led by Derek Anderson. The Bengals revolved around Chad Johnson and the Steelers revolved around the team concept. As a result of Pittsburgh's team play, they made the playoffs for the first time since they won Super Bowl XL.

Here's my first NFL Preview:

BENGALS
The Bengals released the injured Rudi Johnson. Chris Perry may be the one that takes Rudi's place. Carson Palmer may have another Pro Bowl Season. How much money Will Chad Ocho Cinco lose due to "Excessive Celebration?" Will the Bengals defense improve?

We know the Bengals explosive offense will return. Will their defense show up this year? Can the Bengals avoid any talk of the slammer this season? If so, expect The Bengals to make a return to the playoffs.

STEELERS
We finally saw the return of Ben Rothlisberger. Big Ben threw for 3,154 yards and 32 touchdowns. The Steelers had a solid running game with Willie Parker, and Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes were the Steelers most reliable recievers. The Steelers just drafted another reliable reciever in Limas Sweed. Pittsburgh's defense was anchored again by Troy Polamalu. James Farrior anchored Pittsburgh's linebacking Corps.

If Big Ben has another breakout season like they did last season, Pittsburgh should win the AFC North again.


RAVENS
The Baltimore Ravens have many questionmarks entering this season. They have lost the veteran leadership of Steve McNair, and now the Ravens will depend on Rookie Quarterback Joe Flacco. The Ravens still have Willis McGahee, and he should have another shot at a 1,000 yard rushing season. The Ravens Linebacking Corps is still anchored by Ray Lewis, who is still one of the best linebackers in the NFL.

The Ravens have a lot of questions. Too many to win the division.

CLEVELAND BROWNS
The Browns were the surprise team of last season. Led by Derek Anderson. Their return game was sparked by Josh Cribbs. Jamal Lewis had a solid first season in Cleveland. Kellen Winslow and Braylon Edwards should shine this season.

It will be tough for Cleveland to repeat their success from last season, starting the very first week of the season.

Chad Johnson Wants To Be Traded Before Draft

The Master Of the Touchdown Celebration wants a new home.

Three-time All-Pro wide receiver Chad Johnson, who has been selected to the Pro Bowl the last five seasons, wants out of Cincinnati and will not report to any Bengals team functions.

"I want to be traded before the draft," Johnson told ESPN.com's John Clayton. "And if that doesn't happen, I want to be traded as soon as possible. I don't intend on reporting to anything.''

Johnson's comments come on the heels of Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer saying that Johnson indicated he would be at Cincy's mandatory minicamp in June, Clayton reported.

"I want to make this very clear,'' Johnson told Clayton on Wednesday. "I don't know where he got that. I made no assertion to Carson that I would do that. Nothing has changed from what I've been saying for three months that I don't want to play for the Bengals."

In regard to Palmer, Johnson said, "I wish he would stay out of my business."

The Bengals have up until now indicated that they have no plans to trade Johnson. The team has not yet commented on Johnson's latest remarks.

I wonder if Jerry Jones is listening? If I had a choice on whether Dallas chose Chad Johnson or PacMan Jones, I would say,let's give both a chance. If Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens can co-exist on the same field and Pac-Man Jones can quit "Making It Rain" at local Dallas Strip Clubs, the Cowboys would be a very dangerous team this season.

Week Thirteen NFL Preview

Maurice Jones-Drew and the Jagaurs try to stop Peyton Manning and their division rival Colts.

Here Is Your Weeek Thirteen NFL Preview. On Thursday Night, Dallas Defeated The Packers 37-27.

ATLANTA AT ST. LOUIS 1:00 PM EST
Gus Frerrotte fumbled the snap with less than a minute to go last week to put the Rams back in the loss column. The Falcons are coming off a loss to the Colts last Thursday Night. St. Louis wins.
ST LOUIS OVER ATLANTA

BUFFALO AT WASHINGTON 1:00 PM EST
This Is Washington's first game since the death of Sean Taylor on Tuesday. I am sure the team will play with heavy hearts for the rest of the season. It diesn't even seem fair to pick a winner for this game, but I think Washington will play through their grief and beat the Bills.

DETROIT AT MINNESOTA 1:00 PM EST
This is a big NFC North Matchup. The Lions are second in the divison. The Vikings are last in the win column. A win by The Vikings would keep them on pace with Chicago. I'll go with Minnesota.

HOUSTON AT TENNESEE 1:00 PM EST
Tennesee has dropped their last two games. Expect the loss column to be avoided this week as Tennesee beats Houston.

JACKSONVILLE AT INDY 1:00 PM EST THE GAME OF THE WEEK
This is a fantastic game. The winner of this game puts The AFC South in a complete limbo.The Colts may be bannged up, and that is great news for the Jaguars, I think the Colts will win despite the injury bug.

NEW YORK JETS AT MIAMI 1:00 PM EST
The New York Jets are coming off a loss to Dallas on Thanksgiving Day. Miami is coming off an ugly loss to the Steelers 3-0 Monday Night. Ricky Williams is the latest Dolphin injured. Miami just cannot catch a break. Ted Ginn Jr. is the only playmaker on this sorry team. I'll go with the Jets.
NEW YORK JETS OVER MIAMI

SAN DIEGO AT KANSAS CITY 1:00 PM EST
Kansas City is coming off an ugly loss to Oakland 2-17. Kolby Smith rushed for 150 yards and it looked like Kansas City would win for a while. San Diego is coming off a loss to Jacksonville last week. I'll go with San Diego to beat Kansas City.

SEATTLE AT PHILLY 1:00 PM EST
This is a fantastic battle at the running back position as Brian Westbrook opposes Shaun Alexander. A.J. Feeley had a fantastic game for the Eagles last Sunday Night and if it wasn't for two poorly timed interceptions, we would once again be talking about a Quarterback controversy in Philly, as A.J. almost led the Eagles to victory over the Patriots last Sunday Night. I'll go with Philly because they are at home.
PHILLY OVER SEATTLE

SAN FRANCISCO AT CAROLINA 1:00 PM EST
Vinny Testaverde starts for the Panthers this week. The 49ers Defense came up huge last week against The Cardinals. Kurt Warner put up some huge fantasy number against them, as he threw for almost 500 yards against them. Tully Banta-Cain caught an interception in the endzone to win the game for the 49ers.

TAMPA BAY AT NEW ORLEANS 1:00 PM EST
This Is A Big NFC South Rivalry. Tampa Bay has beaten every team in the Conference, and they will beat the Saints At Home.

Who would have thought the Clveland Browns are in the running for a Playoff Spot? The Browns will beat The Cardinals to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Denver is coming off a tough loss to Chicago. Oakland is coming off an upset victory over the Chiefs. I'll go with Denver.

NEW YORK GIANTS AT CHICAGO 4:15 PM EST
Devin Hester had an amazing day as he returned a kick and a punt both for touchdowns. Devin Hester is the reason the Bears won and is the reason the Bears are still in the playoff hunt but they will need an amazing miracle to make the playoffs.Eli Manning looked terrible against the Vikings last week. He wasn't stepping up in the pocket, and he was letting the rush get to him. Chicago is going to blitz early and often, meaning Eli is in for more trouble in Chicago. For That Reason, I go with Chicago Over The Giants.
CHICAGO OVER NEW YORK GIANTS

CINCINNATTI AT PITTSBURGH 8:15 PM EST
Chad Johnson had three touchdown catches as Cincy defeated Tennesee. Pittsburgh is coming off an ugly game against The Dolphins, as Jeff Reed kicked the Game Winning Field Goal with 16 seconds left. It was the only points of the game as Pittsburgh won 3-0. That Monday Night Game for The Steelers is the Definition of Winning Ugly. They now have to play a Bengals Team that is finally starting to play as a team. I can't wait for this game. It's gonna be great. Bengals win.

NEW ENGLAND AT BALTIMORE 8:30 PM EST
The New England Patriots escaped New England still undefeated. Wouldn't it be something if The Ravens, as inconsistent as they've been all season, were to beat The Patriots? It could happen, but I don't think it will. Patriots win Monday Night.

Week Four NFL Preview

Brett Favre is one touchdown pass away from becoming the all time leader in Touchdown Passes.


The NFL is one-fourth of the way through the season. Week four is about to kick off. Here is a preview with every game and a prediction of the winner.

EARLY GAMES
Baltimore At Cleveland, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: The Baltimore Ravens are on the road in Cleveland, but they will pull out a win thanks to their defense. The Ravens are a subpar offensive team, but their defense is how they win ballgames.
BALTIMORE OVER CLEVELAND

Chicago At Detroit, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: The Rex Grossman era in Chicago (for now) is over. Brian Griese takes over as the Bears starting Quarterback this week, and he is taking on a Detroit Lions defense that was shredded last week by the "perfect" Donovan McNabb. Chicago will win against Detroit on the road, as their defense will perform better this week.

Green Bay At Minnesota, 1:00 PM EST (THE GAME OF THE WEEK)
Analysis: This game is the Game of The Week simply because Brett Favre is one Touchdown Pass away from becoming the new all time leader in Touchdown Passes. With one more pass, he will have career Touchdown pass Number 421. Many consider the all-time homerun record the greatest record in the history of American Sports, Second Place is the All Time Touchdown Pass Record. Brett Favre will go down as the one of the greatest Quarterbacks in the history of the game, perhaps the greatest pure passer in the history of the game. Green Bay's defense has stopped LaDanian Tomlinson cold, and I expect them to do the same to Adrian Peterson.

Houston At Atlanta, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: Houston's defense will stop Joey Harrington from clompleting passes, and stop Jerious Norwood from finding the holes. Atlants's winless streak will continue.
HOUSTON OVER ATLANTA.

New York Jets At Buffalo, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: Two good Quarterbacks going at it. J.P. Losman for the Bills and Chad Pennington for the Jets. These two teams also have two good runners. Thomas Jones for the Jets and Marsahwn Lynch for the Bills. I'll go with the Jets because they have more wepons than the Bills.
JETS OVER BILLS

Oakland At Miami, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: Daunte Culpepper will get the nod for the Raiders. You know he wants to beat Miami, his former team. This game will be won with the running game. LaMont Jordan will try to run through the tough Miami Dolphins defense. Ronnie will have an almost as difficult time running through Oakland's defense. Who gonna win? It's a toss up. I go with Miami because they are at home, although this game really could go either way.
MIAMI OVER OAKLAND

LATE GAMES
St. Louis at Dallas, 4:05 PM EST
Analysis: Tony Romo and the Cowboys Offense will score a lot of points in this game. The Cowboy defense will prevent Marc Bulger and The Rams from breaking out of their winless streak.
DALLAS OVER ST. LOUIS

Seattle at San Francisco, 4:05 PM EST
Analysis: This is a Huge NFC West Matchup beacuse of what it means for both teams. San Francisco is coming off a loss to the recharged Steelers. Seattle is coming off a last minute win over The Bengals. Whoever wins this game will lead the NFC West. This game could come down to the running backs, Frank Gore for San Francisco and Shaun Alexander for the Seahawks. This is another tough one. I'll go with Seattle because of Matt Hasselbeck and Deion Branch.

Tampa Bay at Carolina, 4:05 PM EST
Analysis: It doesn't matter who's starting for Carlolina, they're in trouble in this game. Tampa Bay will win this game. Carolina has been plagued by inconsistent play. It hasn't helped them win ballgames.
TAMPA BAY OVER CAROLINA

Denver at Indianapolis, 4:05 PM EST
Analysis: This is Indianpolis' first meet up with Denver ever since Adam Vinateiri kicked the game winning Field Goal for The Colts with five seonds remaining. Peyton Manning has been all calm and collected so far. i don't expect that to change. Jay Cutler may have a good day passing the Football, but Indianapolis will still win the game.
INDY OVER DENVER

Kansas City at San Diego, 4:05 PM EST
Analysis: Two underacheiving teams playing in this game. Kansas City is so desperate to win, Larry Johnson will play injured in this game. San Diego will win, simply because San Diego is at home and they feel like they have to prove something after losing to Green Bay last week.

Pittsburgh at Arizona, 4:05 PM EST
Analysis: Arizona Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt and Assistant Coach Russ Grimm are taking on the team that they were with in the Bill Cowher Era.Arizona is coming off a tough, last second defeat to the Ravens last week. I'll go with Pittsburgh in this game because they have looked really good so far in the season.

Philladelphia at New York Giants, 8: 15 PM EST
Analysis: This is a big NFC East Matchup with both teams coming off a couple of big wins in an attempt to save their season. I'll go with the Eagles in this game. Thier Offense has been hot, and their defense had played well enough for Philly to break out of their winless streak.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
New England At Cincinnatti, 8:30 PM EST
Analysis: The Bengals will be reeling in this game without Rudi Johnson. Tom Brady will light up the Cincinnati Secondary, and New England will pull out another victory.

NFL Week One Preview

Rex Grossman has a tough assignment taking on Shawne Merriman and the tough San Diego Chargers Defense.

The NFL Kickoff Weekend kicked off Thursday Night, as the Indianapolis Colts beat down the New Orleans Saints 41-10.

Analysis: Adrian Peterson may have a field day in this game. He'll be running wild. Expect Pat Williams to sack Joey Harrington at least once in this game.

Carolina at St. Louis, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: Jake Delhomme and Marc Bulger will both have good days in this game. This game has the potential to be an offensive shootout. Torry Holt and Issac Bruce are two good veteran Wide Recievers, and I expect them to help St. Louis get the victory.
ST LOUIS OVER CAROLINA

FINAL SCORE: CAROLINA 27, ST LOUIS 13

Denver at Buffalo, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: Two Quarterbacks take the field that are expected to take the next step in this game, Jay Cutler for Denver and J.P. Losman for Buffalo. Whoever wins this game takes that big first step to helping their team improve. I pick Denver over Buffalo because Denver is the more complete team.

Kanasas City at Houston, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: Two teams that are rebuilding at the Quarterback Spot. Damon Huard takes over for the Chiefs, while Matt Schaub takes over for the Texans. I'm going with the Chiefs to win because Larry Johnson will be running all over the Texans defense.

FINAL SCORE: HOUSTON 20, KANSAS CITY 3

Miami at Washington, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: Dolphins Head Coach Cam Cameron has a lot of pressure on him his rookie season. Trent Green will be handing the ball of to Ronnie Brown many times in this game. Miami is the better team, and I expect Miami to win this game.

New England at New York Jets, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: Tom Brady will be throwing the ball deep to Randy Moss in this game, and I expect Brady to have the better game than Chad Pennington. Pennington will try to keep pace with Brady, but New England's tough defense will ensure that doesn't happen.
NEW ENGLAND OVER NEW YORK JETS

FINAL SCORE: NEW ENGLAND 36. MEW YORK JETS 14

Philladelphia at Green Bay, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: Donovan McNabb needs to stay healthy, or he may get the Byron Leftwhich treatment from Head Coach Andy Reid. I expect Philly to win this game, as Green Bay would be considered a rebuilding team if Brett Favre wasn't there anymore.
PHILLADELPHIA OVER GREEN BAY.

FINAL SCORE: GREEN BAY 16, PHILLADELPHIA 13

Pittsburgh at Cleveland, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: Pittsburgh will win this game. Ben Rothelisberger will throw to his heart's content. Charlie Frye will be the starting Quarterback for the Browns in at least this game.

Tennesee at Jacksonville, 1:00 PM EST
Analysis: This is David Garrard's First Game in his First full season as the Starting Quarterback of the Jaguars. Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor are two very good running backs. Vince Young has lost two recievers from last season, so expect him to scramble more often than he did last season. I take Jacksonville over Tennesee because of the running of Jones-Drew and Taylor. Don't count out Tennesee, but I think Jacksonville will win.

Late Games
Chicago at San Diego, 4:15 PM EST (THE GAME OF THE WEEK)
Analysis: This is, in my opinion, the Game of the Week. Rex Grossman will have a tough time getting anything started for the Bears against Shawne Merriman and this tough San Diego Defense. Norv Turner will get his first win as Head Coach of the San Diego Chargers.
SAN DIEGO OVER CHICAGO

FINAL SCORE: SAN DIEGO 14, CHICAGO 3

Detroit at Oakland: 4:15 PM EST
Analysis: Many people were expecting this game to be the battle of the Number One Draft Pick taking on the Number Two Draft Pick, but it looks like JaMarcus Russell, the Number One Pick, may not even agree to a contract to start the season. Calvin Johnson will be the target of Jon Kitna early and often, and that may be enough to stop the veteran Daunte Culpepper and his veteran Wide Receiver Jerry Porter, who is now the number one receiver after The Raiders traded Randy Moss to New England.
DETROIT OVER OAKLAND

FINAL SCORE: DETROIT 36, OAKLAND 21

Tampa Bay at Seattle: 4:15 PM EST
Analysis: Tight End Jaramy Stevens played in Super Bowl XL with the Seattle Seahawks, and now he is with the Buccaneers, playing the Seahawks. Sean Alexander will have a good day on the ground, and Matt Hasselbeck will have a great day through the air as he passes often for Deion Branch.
SEATTLE OVER TAMPA BAY.

FINAL SCORE: SEATTLE 20, TAMPA BAY 6

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

New York Giants at Dallas, 8:15 PM EST
Analysis: This is the second game that I am wailting for. Tony Romo and Eli Manning are both expected to improve this season. The Giants are reeling from the loss of Tiki Barber, but Brandon Jacobs is a faster version of Tiki Barber. Dallas hasn't really lost much in the retirement of Bill Parcells, as Wade Phillips is going to improve Dallas defensively this season. Tony Romo will be throwing the ball deep for Terrell Owens and Patrick Crayton, who suddenly becomes the number two receiver after Terry Glenn is out with an injury. Michael Strahan is back, but he may not even play in this game, and, even if he does, I don't expect him to be a factor because he will be nowhere close to 100 percent.
DALLAS OVER NEW YORK GIANTS.

FINAL SCORE: DALLAS 45, NEW YORK GIANTS 35

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
Baltimore at Cincinnatti, 7:00 PM EST
Analysis: this is a big AFC North Matchup, both of these teams think they have what it takes to win the division. I am going with Baltimore becuse of the defense and the veteran offense. Willis McGahee will run for a lot of yards in this game. Expect Carson Palmer and "Ocho Cinco" Chad Johnson, to go deep early and often. Bengals Fans will be expecting an endzone celbration from Chad Johnson, but Ed Reed will be playing him tough. Bengals still have T.J. Houshmandzadeh, but the loss of Chris Henry for the first half of the season hurts Cincinnatti's passing attack.
BALTIMORE OVER CINCINNATTI.

FINAL SCORE: CINCINNATTI 27, BALTIMORE 20

Arizona at San Francisco, 10:15 PM EST
Analysis: Matt Leinart is expected by Cardinals fans to take Arizona to the top of the NFC West, which won't happen as long as Alex Smith is throwing to Vernon Davis and Frank Gore is running the daylight out of the mediocre Cardinals defense.
SAN FRANCISCO OVER ARIZONA.

FINAL SCORE: SAN FRANCISCO 20, ARIZONA 17

NFL Preview: AFC North

Ray Lewis is the heart of the Ravens defense, and he will help the Ravens win the AFC North again.



The Baltimore Ravens may have lost Adalius Thomas to Free Agency, but the Ravens still have Ray Lewis, the best linebacker in the AFC. Add to that defense Samari Rolle, Steve McNair's old buddy from Tennesee, and that the Ravens now have upgraded their running game with Willis McGahee, and Baltimore is going to win the AFC North.

Prediction: 10-6, 1st Place.

What have the teams like Cincinnatti, Pittsburgh and Cleveland done to try to keep up? Here's a quick recap.

CINCINNATTI BENGALS: If The Cincinnati Bengals can spend more time on the field than behind bars, they have a chance to keep up with Baltimore through the early part of the season. The loss of David Pollack for the entire season hurts, but the Bengals still have one of the best offenses in the AFC. Carson Palmer needs to take the next step this year, and Chad Johnson, "Ocho Cinco" will continue to be the focal point of the Bengals passing game, although the loss of Chris Henry for the first eight games will hurt. The Bengals will continue running the ball with Rudi Johnson, who will carry the ball enough times to reach 1,000 yards rushing. I just think Cincinnati needs to show they can step it up in the abscence of David Pollack on the defense and Chris Henry for the first half of the season on offense.

Prediction: 8-8, 2nd Place.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS: The Pittsburgh Steelers finally "Won one for the thumb" with their Super Bowl XL victory over the Seahawks, but Pittsburgh is a totally different team since they hoisted the Lombardi Trophy two seasons ago. Jerome Bettis, "The Bus" is gone, Antwaan Randle-El is now with the Redskins, Joey Porter is now with the Dolphins, Ben Rothlisberger is still trying to recover from the adverse effects of his Motorcycle Accident, and former Head Coach Bill Cowher has, at least for now, retired. The Steelers now have former Minnesota Vikings Defensive Coordinator Mike Tomlin as their Head Coach. Joey Porter has been replaced by Linebacker Lamar Woodley out of Michigan. Hines Ward is still there, and he will be the focal pointr for Ben Rothelisberger this year, as always. Willie Parker, who broke the longest Touchdown Run in the History of the Super Bowl in Super Bowl XL, could run for up to 1,000 yards, as longtime Steeler Alan Faneca in fact will get ready for the season despite his unhappiness with his current contract. There is just too much missing from the Steelers to have a playoff year this year, but I think they will be in better position next season.

Prediction: 7-9, 3rd Place.

CLEVELAND BROWNS: The "Dawg Pound" is clamoring for Brady Quinn to be the Starting QB for the Browns by the start of the season opener, but it doesn't appear as if it's going to happen. Right Now, the Strting QB job is Charlie Frye's to lose and Brady Quinn's to gain. The Browns have Jamal Lewis, but he is really on the downside of his career. I don't see him rushing for 1,000 yards. Willie McGinest, the former Patriot, is winding down his carrer in Cleveland, and if the team does not show improvement right away, Romeo Crennel might get the axe as Head Coach before the season is over.

Prediction: 6-10, 4th Place.
